Good to know

So you know what to expect.

This is how it was planned.

What to expect
  • You paint characters and backgrounds, invent stories, collect sounds and hammer your ideas into the keys.
  • Two professional artists guide you: from painting, digital art, game design and sound.
  • Whether you prefer drawing, storytelling, tinkering or coding, everyone finds a role here.
  • The theme stays secret until the first day. Just this much: it will be a journey, and a visit to the Residenzmuseum in Celle Castle is part of it.
The closing party
  • On Sunday, 18 October 2026, you present your work to the public, from 2 pm to 8 pm at Trift 32.
  • Your family, your friends and all of Celle are invited to try out your game and admire your artwork.

Autumn holidays 2026 in Celle: for one week, Trift 32 becomes a game lab. At the Denk.Mal Game Jam you develop your own digital game together with eleven other young people, from the very first sketch to a finished game that everyone can play at the end.

You paint characters and backgrounds, invent stories, collect sounds and hammer your ideas into the keys. Two professional artists guide you along the way: from painting, digital art, game design and sound. Whether you prefer drawing, storytelling, tinkering or coding, everyone finds a role here. And the theme? It stays secret until the first day. Just this much: it will be a journey, and a visit to the Residenzmuseum in Celle Castle is waiting for you along the way.

On the last day you present your work to the public: your family, your friends and all of Celle are invited to try out your game and admire your artwork.

You do not need any previous experience. Just curiosity!

The Game Jam is funded by “Wir können Kunst” (BBK) as part of “Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung”, a programme of the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Cooperation partners are Oberschule Westercelle and the Residenzmuseum in Celle Castle.
